:: Oh hey Spring, Nice of you to join us! ::

Spring has Sprung! Forgive the cliche quote but it's true! The days of layering on clothing and seeing your breath in the morning are finally over, so pack away your ice scrapers and clunky boots and bust out your sandals. Today, I was looking for some inspiration and I noticed that the trees and bushes are all beginning to bud. There's something so magical about the process of plant growth (is that nerdy to say?). Whenever I see it, I think of being reborn. This is the time of year we should forget everything that is troubling us and just let it be (man, I'm just full of cliche things to say today). Spring is a time of happiness and growth. If we sit and dwell on the past, the beauty that surrounds us will just pass by. Here are a few photos I took in my back yard of some bushes, my sister and some lawn ornaments. Enjoy this wonderful weather everyone! :)

:: The Great Flood of 2010 ::

So (almost) every year the Minnesota River floods causing the 101 bridge to be closed and shear pandemonium to anyone that lives close. This year I went down and took some pictures right at sunset and it was simply gorgeous! However , I was so wrapped up in all the beauty that I actually completely forgot to document the actual flood! You will just have to trust me when I say it was bad haha. Here are some of the shots I got! The first one is my favorite. Could a photographer even ask for a better sky!?

:: Sandi, Steph and Spirit ::

This trio of lovely gals are Sandi, Steph and Spirit Huntington! Aren't they all beautiful!? Sandi and Steph are good friends of mine so when they approached me wondering if they could get some pictures I had to do it! Spirit has been a member of the Huntington family for as long as I can remember and I think she fabulous on her modeling debut. She is no longer with us here on earth but we will always see her in all the beauty that surrounds us. I love these images and Im happy I was able to capture them for the Huntington family. I love you guys so much! Here are a few of my favorites from the session :)

:: Gross Update ::

Well, it has been a while since my last post! But I swear it was not my fault this time. Outside forces intervened for I was the proud owner of a nice nasty eye infection! I do not think I have ever been as miserable as I was last week. I was confined to the darkness of my bedroom for days on end with nothing to do but think of how I would look with an eye patch (quite good I might add). While I wasn't in the dungeon (my bedroom) I was shielding my face from the blinding sunlight on the way to eye doctor. My mother had to help me walk and find chairs and tell me when I was about to face plant on the curb. It was awful. After some wicked intense eye drops and lots of sleep, I could finally open the darn thing! Now, we fast forward to today. I can actually look at my computer without feeling like my eyes are liquifying out of their sockets. My vision isn't completely back but at least I don't look like I'm on drugs anymore! And how many people can say they have a permanent scar on their eyeball?? Oh yea..I'm just that awesome.

I would have taken an actual picture of my eye but I do not want any of you to vomit on your computers.  So, I thought since I am such a gifted artist, I would draw what I looked like. I know most of you think this is an actual photograph, but its not! Promise. I drew this with my own two hands. Pretty good for a chick with a bum eye eh?

:: Cha Cha Chi Town ::

Well, I finally did it! I went to Chicago! I went with one of my best friends from higschool for a long weekend full of fun! We took the "megabus" from Minneapolis right to Chi-Town.  We stayed with one of her friends from school and had a blast! I can definitely see myself living there one day. Hopefully soon! It was really hard to fit everything inot a four day trip but we did the best we could! We got to go the Shedd Aquarium (amazing!), take a boat tour (breath taking), go to Navy Pier (crazy!) and walk all around the beautiful city! My feet still have blisters since I chose to go with more fashionable footwear vs sneakers. Beauty is pain! haha I could not even narrow down my favorite pictures from the trip. So take a peek and enjoy! And if anyone wants to go down there its only $35 round trip! :)

This is Christopher. We met at the Shedd, and I want him to live with me. Look how he makes love to that camera!

American Flag at Union Station. What a place.

Me and the skid myster. We are crazy.

I got to meet up with Josh, my oldest cousin while there because he was there for business! It was a lot of fun to catch up! Can we say GQ Man of the Year?!

Josh creepin on the Euro Hotties :)

:: Morning Hair ::

This is my newest picture from my Morning Hair series. Even though 25% of the people that read this are thinking I am wearing a birds nest as a hat, I know the other 75% are trying to figure out how I look so breath-taking in the morning :)

:: Morning Hair ::

No folks, this is not a high fashion photo I did for Vogue Magazine. This is another little gem from my Morning Hair series. I know It might be hard to tell the difference since it is so stunning. Also, I know its might be difficult to tell, but Im not really a morning person :)

:: Lake Life ::

Well I FINALLY got a little vacation this past weekend up at "the lake". I really wish I could have stayed longer but I had a blast for the few days I was there. It was just as I remembered. French toast smell in the morning, fruit salad with dinner, reading books by the dock, watching all the aunties play Scrabble and of course our annual Survivor tournament. All of us cousins got split into two teams and we had to complete various events such as riddle solving, and obstacle course, and building a fire just to name a few. (I will post pictures from that later!) My team won (of course, I was on it haha). Out newest obsession this year was a game called Banagrams. If you have never heard of it, I suggest you go out and but it. It will change your life forever. I didn't take near as many pictures as I wanted to but I think I still got some fun ones. Enjoy!!

This is a common site at our cabin. Aunts with power tools. Notice to the soft cast on my Aunt Patty's foot (the one standing) Oh yea, even while injured she still helps work the power saw. And look at Sharon holding that beast. Pure strength. I have some pretty sweet aunts :)
This is what two weeks in the hot hot rays will get you. A wicked bad tan line. (notice the three shades, brown to red to SNOW white) hehe
This is Boots. My cousins dog. He is honestly the most passive dog I have ever met. You do not even remember he is there until you see him creep out from under the bed or table or anything else he can wedge himself into.
And this little fro is Copper. He speaks when you tell him to. Its pretty awesome. And although he is a little bit on the strange side, he is still cute. Look at those curls!
